The Creative Works of Andrea Freeman
Andrea has been drawing and painting most of her life as well as dabbling in other artistic mediums. She worked, professionally, as an animation artist for many years. She also taught mural painting classes for children and directed Children’s Theater plays. Below is a very small sampling of some of her artwork, including her ‘Novel Idea’ literary pun postcards, an ocean theme and riparian scene mural painted by children in her classes, as well as murals she designed that were used as backdrops in one of her plays.
She both wrote and directed this particular play that was enacted by children in a 4th grade class. The script she wrote was adapted from a Guatemalan folktale. She designed the mural backdrops and the props for the play. Under her direction, the children (and some of their parents) helped to paint the backdrops that were used in the different scenes.
